Travel itinerary
Day 1: Amsterdam - Santiago
Today you will fly with your intercontinental flight to the Chilean capital Santiago. You will arrive the next day.
Day 2: Santiago
Upon arrival at the airport you will be welcomed by our local staff and brought to your hotel. You will have the opportunity to take a break from the long flight journey. At the end of the afternoon your guide will take you to the culinary wine bar La Vinocracia. There are more than 1000 different kinds of wines in stock, where the sommelier can tell you all about it. An excellent dinner will be served with matching wines. After dinner you will be brought back to your hotel.

Day 3: Santiago
After breakfast you will leave, together with your guide, for the center of Santiago, where you will visit the most famous markets of the city: Vega Central and Mercado Central. Of course you will be able to taste different fruits and vegetables, which are perhaps unknown to you. The guide will tell you more about the architecture of the Mercado Central, but also about the history of the building from 1872. You will have the opportunity to taste various fresh fish and seafood caught earlier that day.

Day 4: Santiago - San Felipe
(approx. 110 km | 2 hour drive)
In the morning your rental car will be delivered and you will continue your journey to the next destination in the Aconcagua valley, located at the foot of Mount Aconcagua. The Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, with its 6,956 meters, rises high above the valley and its snow-capped peak provides the valley with water. In this region you will find the vineyards of Errázuriz. You can visit the visitor center and learn more about the history of Errázuriz. After your visit to the bodega Errazuriz, drive on to your hotel. Termas de Jahuel is located about 40 km away, a 45 minute drive from the Errazuriz vineyard. The hotel has an excellent spa including a jacuzzi, sauna and steam baths.

Day 5: San Felipe - Matetic
(approx. 180 km | 2.5 hour drive)
Today you will continue on your way to the San Antonio Valley. The San Antonio Valley is located 100 km west of Santiago on the coast and south of the Casablanca valley. It is a relatively new wine region, where brave growers and groundbreaking winemakers make particularly tasty, mainly white wines. You will stay on the estate of bodega Matetic.

Day 6: Matetic
You will stay on the estate of bodega Matetic in a typical colonial country house with ten stylish rooms. The country house is more than 100 years old and is decorated by Max Cummins. During your stay you can visit the vineyard, explore the estate and of course taste the delicious wines. The estate is situated in the pleasant Rosario valley, where a number of picturesque villages and of course several other wineries can be found. It is recommended to visit the nearby national nature park La Campana. This special nature reserve is located over 30 kilometers northeast of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. In La Campana you will find various indigenous tree species that occur almost nowhere else, such as the Chilean palm and the Roble. The climate is Mediterranean.

Day 7: Matetic - Colchagua
(approx. 180 km | 3 hour drive)
Today you will leave Matetic and drive on to one of the most famous wine regions of Chile: the Colchagua Valley. This region is located 180 km south of Santiago, in the most southern part of the Rapel valley. Here beautiful full-bodied Cabernet, Carmenère, Syrah and Malbec wines are produced; global prize winners! After arriving at your accommodation you are expected at Viña Montes for a visit to this vineyard. First of all you will be taken for a walk. Your guide will tell you more about the production process and the grape varieties used for the different types of wine produced here. After the tour a delicious lunch will be waiting for you. Enjoy the tasty dishes in combination with matching wines while overlooking the vineyards in the valley.

Day 8: Colchagua
This day is at leisure. Enjoy the view with a delicious glass of wine or explore the beautiful surroundings of the Colchagua Valley with your rental car.

Day 9: Colchagua - Maipo
(approx. 180 km | 3 hour drive)
After breakfast you drive on to the Maipo valley. You will stay in hotel Casa Real, part of the winery Santa Rita. It is the ideal place for those who want to enjoy the comfort and tranquility of nature in a beautiful classical ambience. The house in Pompeian style has 16 rooms, decorated in a charming mix of sleek modern design and beautiful antiques. The estate also features a neo-Gothic chapel, built in 1885 by the French architect Teodoro Burchard. It was recently beautifully restored by restorers who also restored the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican.

Day 10: Maipo
Today there is a guided tour and a wine tasting on the program at the winery Santa Rita. The Maipo valley, in which you are now located, is the closest to Santiago. The Maipo valley is divided into three areas: Alto Maipo (production of leading Cabernets), central Maipo (oldest and most varied in terms of production in the country) and coastal Maipo (new wine region). After visiting the Santa Rita estate, it's time for a wine tasting.

Day 11: Maipo
You will drive to the wine house Perez Cruz, also located in the Maipo valley. At the end of a guided tour of the vineyard you will be introduced to two different wines from this winery. Enjoy a good glass of wine and a beautiful view of the Andes Mountains on this last day!

Day 12: Maipo - Santiago - Amsterdam
Unfortunately, your journey is over. You will drop-off your rental car at Santiago airport (approximately 42 km / 1 hour drive) and board your intercontinental flight to Amsterdam. You will arrive the next day.
Day 13: Amsterdam
Today you will arrive in Amsterdam.
