The Amazon is located in the easternmost part of Ecuador. The Andes, with its steep mountain ridges, lets its water run off through streams and waterfalls that eventually end up in the deep rainforest, a humid lowland with beautiful flora and fauna. The rainforest covers about half of the country and is the least populated part of Ecuador.
