Between the South American continent and Antarctica you will find the Falkland Islands, Cape Horn and South Georgia. Unique places where you can also encounter a varied animal life, but also settlements and a rich history. Think of the whale processing industry on South Georgia, the war between Argentina and England on the Falklands and various expeditions such as the discovery of Cape Horn by Schouten and Le Maire in search of a passage to Asia. Prior to the Antarctic season you can take two unique cruises along the Sub-Antarctic Islands in September and October.
Visiting the islands
The remote islands of the South Atlantic are magical places of awe-inspiring beauty. In the Falkland Islands you will visit peaceful bays rich in animal life and learn about life in this remote outpost of British culture. In South Georgia, marvel at the snow-capped peaks and large colonies of king penguins and elephant seals. Prior to the Antarctic season, in September and October you can take two unique cruises along the Sub-Antarctic Islands visiting Cape Horn, the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. See the day-to-day descriptions of these cruises below.
